CLE on LGBT Workplace Issues - Friday, November 6th
Employers and employees face a myriad of issues navigating the ever-changing tide of legal developments affecting LGBT communities. TLDEF executive director Michael Silverman will join management- and employee-side attorneys who will address the current law, trends and best practices impacting LGBT and gender non-conforming workers. The panel will provide an update on discrimination, retaliation and harassment cases and proposed laws, as well as policies that promote an inclusive workplace. The panel will also discuss benefits issues for transgender employees and the same-sex partners of employees.
TLDEF executive director Michael Silverman will speak on the topic of benefits and workplace issues for transgender and gender non-conforming employees. Along with Mr. Silverman, speakers include Jordan Backman of Sony Corporation of America, Lisa A. Linsky of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and Ken Choe of the ACLU LGBT Rights & AIDS Projects.
