GENDA

The Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act, often simply called GENDA, is a bill pending in the New York State legislature that would strengthen New York State’s Human Rights Law by banning discrimination based upon gender identity and expression throughout New York State.  You can read more about it here to familiarize yourself with the issues that you might want to talk to your legislator about.  Click here to read about a recent statewide poll demonstrating that New Yorkers overwhelmingly support passing a law that provides transgender people with protections from discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and other areas of everyday life.
