Nevada DMV Adopts New Sex Marker Policy

Nevada’s Department of Motor Vehicles recently adopted a new policy for changing the sex marker on driver's licenses.  Proof of sex reassignment surgery is no longer required.  Instead, applicants for a license must submit  form DLD-136 filled out by a doctor.  The form asks the doctor to indicate the gender in which the applicant is living as well as the applicant's gender identity.

Thanks to Equality Nevada, ACLU of Nevada and other progressive organizations in the state for working with the Nevada DMV to institute this new policy.
